Two men remain detained in Garda custody in Co. Tipperary, following a joint-agency search operation carried out on Wednesday last, in the Heywood / Ardgeeha areas of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
Gardaí from the Clonmel District, assisted by members of the Armed Support Unit; Dog Unit; Public Order Unit, and the Stolen Vehicle Investigation Unit, all took part in what was described as an intelligence led search operation.
Personnel from the Irish Defence Forces based in Co. Cork, Revenue Customs Service and the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) also assisted in the operation. Five persons in all were initially arrested, with one male and two females having since been released without charge.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), following the seizure by the ISPCA of 15 dogs and 3 horses; while 3 caravans latter believed stolen and a quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of €2,000 were also located.
Further investigations remain ongoing.
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday, Wednesday, 7th December, 2022, of Mr Michael McCormack, Curraheen, Horse and Jockey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Kylenoe, Horse and Jockey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his brother Joe; Mr McCormack passed away suddenly at his place of residence, while under the loving care of his family.
His passing is most sadly missed by his heartbroken family; wife Blanche (née Lamphier), daughter Victoria, parents Peggy and Seamus, brothers Pat, Jim, Philip, John and Thomas, sisters Margaret, Josie, Elsie and Sandra, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and friends (especially Stephen).

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr McCormack will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Sunday evening, December 11th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. His body will be received into the Church of St. Peter, Moycarkey, Thurles, on Monday morning, December 12th, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am. Interment will take place immediately afterwards in nearby St. Peter’s cemetery, Moycarkey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her twin sister, Sheila; Ms Carpenter passed away, following a long illness most bravely borne.
Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving parents Mary and James, sister Rosemary, brothers Séamus and Denis, sister-in-law Karina, brother-in-law Kieran, adored nieces Niamh, Hannah and Abbey, treasured nephew Conor, her loving uncle Jim, extended relatives, neighbours, friends, and colleagues of Scoil Ruáin, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The earthly remains of Ms Carpenter, will repose at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, No.10 Barrack Street, Carlow, on Friday evening from 5:00pm, concluding with prayers at 8:00pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00am in St. Abban’s Church, Doonane, Co. Laois, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Arles Cemetery, Ballynagall, Arles, Co. Laois.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Thursday, 8th December, 2022, of Ms Eileen Norton, St. Margaret’s, Dublin and formerly of Glengoole, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Ms Norton passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at the Bon Secours Hospital, Dublin.
Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sister Mary, brothers Liam, Pat, Martin and John, sisters-in-law Maura and Carmel, nieces, Niamh, Amy and Lisa, nephews Shane, Ciaran, Ronan and Adam, extended relatives neighbours and friends.

Kilkenny.
