Death Of Very Rev. Nicholas James Irwin P.P., Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday July 10th. 2023, of Very Rev. Nicholas James Irwin P.P., Gortnahoe/Glengoole, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Borroway, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his father Nicholas and sister-in-law Marian; Rev. Irwin passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving mother Elizabeth (Betty), brothers and sisters John, Ber, Ted, Ger, Ann, Liz, Michael, Martin and Eamon, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, their partners, nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins extended relatives, parishioners, His Grace Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly and all priests of Cashel and Emly diocese, neighbours and many close friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Rev. Irwin will be received into the Church of the Sacred Heart, Gortnahoe, Thurles, on Wednesday afternoon from 5:00pm, pausing for prayers at 7:00pm same evening.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 12:00 noon, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Gortnahoe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Thurles Not Included In Mattress Amnesty.

An anti-dumping initiative for Tipperary residents has been organised by Tipperary County Council, once again ignoring the needs of Thurles residents.

Litter and dumped household waste collected by Thurles volunteers

The Mattress Amnesty, for those with private transport and a car trailer, will reside at a number of other locations across the Premier with effect from July 25th next until July 27th, inclusive from 9:00am until 4:00pm on these dates.

Residents of Co. Tipperary are being encouraged to use this opportunity to rid themselves of up to a total of three mattresses, per household, completely free of charge.

Donohill: Recycling Centre, Garryshane, Donohill, Co. Tipperary, [E34 A090].

Death Of Marcie Ryan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 8th July 2023, of Mr Martin (Marcie) Ryan, Kilcommon Cross, Kilcommon, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by loving parents Martin and Gretta, and his brother Thomas; Mr Ryan passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at Sonas Nursing Home, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brother Eamon, sisters Bridie, Elizabeth and Eileen, brother-in-law Martin, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mr Ryan will repose at McCormack’s Funeral Home, Kilcommon Cross, Thurles, on Monday evening, July 10th, from 6:30pm until 8:00pm, followed by removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilcommon, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:30am, followed by by interment, immediately afterwards, in Upperchurch Cemetery, Upperchurch, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Dan Lynch, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Thursday last, 6th July 2023, of Mr Dan Lynch, Tybroughney, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Moyglass, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, daughter Valerie and sons David, Richard, Pat and Conor, brothers Pat, Mick, Maurice and John, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his 11 grandchildren, son-in-law Gerry, daughters-in-law Sharon, Christine, Susan and Karen, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Lynch will repose at Walsh’s Funeral Home, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary on Sunday July 9th from 5:00pm until 6:30pm.

His remains will be received into the Church of the Assumption, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny on Monday the July 10th, for to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Leonard Askew, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Thursday 29th June 2023, of Mr Leonard Askew, Orihuela Costa, Spain and Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his wife Josephine (neé Ryan Gilly), Mr Askew passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at Torrevieja Hospital, Spain

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his daughter Jackie, brother Bob, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The remains of Mr Askew will repose at Hayes’ Funeral Chapel, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary on Saturday next July 8th, from 7:00pm until 8:00pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral chapel on Sunday, July 9th at 12:00 noon, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Rossmore graveyard, Co.Tipperary.
