Death Of Tommie O’Gorman, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, Thursday 10th August 2023, of Mr Tommie O’Gorman, Lisbuke, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Bawnmore, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Tommie and Eileen, brothers Willie, Jimmy and Eddie and daughter-in-law Anne-Marie; Mr O’Gorman passed away unexpectedly while in the care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Brigid, daughter Caitríona, sons Thomas, Noel and John, sisters Katie and Nellie, brothers Paddy and John, grandchildren Cathal, Nathan, Darragh, Ruby, Paddy, Brídín and Tom, son-in-law Niall, daughters-in-law Mary and Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr O’Gorman will repose at his residence (Eircode E25 YF44) on tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, August 12th, from 4:00pm with removal at 7:30pm, same evening, to St. John the Baptist Church, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Sunday morning at 11:30am, followed by interment in Ardmayle Cemetery.

Death Of Jim O’Meara, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Thursday 10th August 2023, of Mr James (Jim) O’Meara, No 5 Boher Lug, Cashel Road, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Woodvale Walk, Fethard, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Mary, brothers Frank and Joe and sister Judy; the passing of Mr O’Meara is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Patricia, daughter Melissa, brothers Sean and Pat, sister Alice, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr O’Meara will repose at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, No.1 Bóthar Lug, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, on Saturday afternoon from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His remains will be received into the Church of St. Joseph the Worker, Moyglass, Fethard, Co. Tipperary on Sunday afternoon, August 13th at 1:45pm to further repose for Requiem Mass at 2:00pm, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in adjoining graveyard.

Death Of John O’Sullivan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, Thursday 10th August 2023, of Mr John O’Sullivan, Sli Aobhinn, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Brocka, Rossmore, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his sister-in-law Caroline, Mr O’Sullivan passed away while in the tender care of his family.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Fiona, Tadgh and Liam, his Mam Mary, Dad PJ, brother Kev, sisters Mary and Angie, mother-in-law Nuala, brothers-in-law Mark, TJ, Michael, Peter and Rory, sisters-in-law Lucy, Bríd, Sinead and Marie, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The earthly remains of Mr O’Sullivan will repose at his home on Friday afternoon, August 11th, from 5:00pm until 7:30pm same evening.
The funeral cortège bearing the earthly remains of Mr O’Sullivan will be received into the Church of the Sacred Heart, Borrisoleigh, Thurles on Saturday morning, August 12th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 10:00am, followed by private cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin 24.

Traffic Accident On Slievenamon Road (N62), Thurles Brings Town To A Standstill.

A traffic accident on Slievenamon Road (N62), Thurles this afternoon (August 10th 2023), close to the entrance to Liberty Square town centre, which occurred at approximately 4:00pm, once again brought the town to a standstill.

The accident involved two cars, both travelling in the same direction, with one vehicle being overturned.
Two ambulances together with Gardaí and three sections of Thurles fire brigade quickly attended the scene.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported and in the past half hour the overturned vehicle has been righted.

The road still remains closed, however, and traffic remains congested, particularly with vehicles coming from their places of work, from south of the town.
Drivers are advised to avoid the Thurles area until the roadway is reopened to normal traffic.

UPDATE: N62 Slievenamon Road Road has reopened to traffic.

Death Of William Russell, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Monday 31st July 2023, of Mr William John Russell, Laffansbridge, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Born 1st November 1939, Mr Russell passed away, while in the care of staff at Abbotts Care Home, Askeaton, Co. Limerick, having spent most of his life in Wales and England, before returning to his native Tipperary, in his later years.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Bernadette, Billy and Anna Marie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Cardiff and America, and extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Russell will repose for Requiem Mass on Sunday morning, August 13th, in St. Mary’s Church, Bailey Street, Killenaule, Thurles at 11:00am, followed by the interment of his ashes in Ballinure Graveyard, Ballinure, Co. Tipperary.
