It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 1st November 2023, of Mrs Patricia (Pat) Ivory (née Bryan), Brittas Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Cloneyquin, Portarlington, Co. Offaly.
Pre-deceased by her loving husband Tom, sister Bernie and daughter Gillian; the passing of Mrs Ivory is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her daughters Anne Marie, Michelle, Sharon, Louise, sons-in-law Jim, Steve, Ronan and Matt, grandchildren Bob, Gillian, Anna, David, Cian, Sarah, Lauryn, Tom, Ben, Aaron, Cruz and Jett, sisters and brothers and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Ivory will repose at Dan Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Upper Kickham Street, Dublin Road, Thurles (E41XY47) on tomorrow afternoon, Friday November 3rd, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, same evening.
Her remains will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles on Saturday morning, November 4th at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass, followed by interment immediately afterwards, in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Gardaí are examining fingerprints and video footage, following a robbery on Saturday night last, October 28th, in the Ballynonty village area, near Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Four cars on a property, in this area, were targeted by a male wearing a grey tracksuit pants, a black hoodie and a black jacket.
A female and owner of the property was at home at the time, latter caring for her children, one of which has special needs, and was unaware of the robbery of her own car and that of her daughters, until the following morning.
Amongst the property stolen where extremely sentimental items, which previously had belonged to a recently deceased parent, latter who passed away on October 13th last.
Also stolen was a substantial sum of cash, the victims handbag, which included a purse containing her wages, credit cards, medical cards, perfume and her sons necessary medical requirements.
Stolen from the second vehicle were Christmas presents, a new car amplifier valued at €400 and a car battery.
According to CCTV footage the intruder was initially scared off; observed running away across the main road, due to the fact that the owner entered the yard of their home, during heavy rain, to obtain fuel for the families cooker.
Same footage shows the criminal seated in the victim’s car for a duration of same 8 to 10 mins, as he searched, while using a lighter to view through everything; having carefully switching off interior car lights. He can be observed climbing into the back seat, and pulling down the middle seat to gain access to the rear boot.
On being disturbed by the owner, the criminal returned later to the scene of his crime, before stealing all of the items from her daughters car.
Similar robberies have been recently reported in the areas of Urlingford and Thurles town with a thief or thieves searching cars.

Dubliner Mr Paul Kelly has been appointed as the new Tipperary senior football manager for a three-year term, following a meeting of the county’s management committee on Tuesday evening last.
Thomas Davis clubman, Mr Kelly had been linked to a number of inter-county posts in recent months, including those in Laois and Offaly, and will now succeed Mr David Power as Tipperary manager.
Mr Kelly’s most recent role saw him serve as part of Wicklow’s backroom team, which gained promotion from Division 4, while he also boasts a wealth of managerial experience at minor level and in the women’s game.
Mr Hugh Kenny and Mr Paddy O’Connor have been named as selectors, while Mr Adrian O’Brien, Mr Michael O’Sullivan, Mr Paul Fitzgerald and Mr Michael Byrnes will comprise the remainder of the new backroom team.
The Tipperary management ticket will be ratified at the next county committee meeting.

- Through LEAP Online the public will be able to see information on site inspections, monitoring, incidents, non-compliances, complaint summaries and also compliance investigations into issues detected at EPA licensed sites.
- LEAP Online will allow the public to learn about nearby licensed operations and how they are performing in their obligations to protect their local environment.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has today launched the second phase of a major new Online service, the Licensing and Enforcement Access Portal or LEAP Online, following on from the release of Phase 1 in May of this year. Phase 1 provided access to Site Visit Reports, monitoring reports and responses by licensees to those reports, as well as monitoring returns, requests for information and approval. Today’s release delivers the further enforcement information, including details of incidents, non-compliances, complaint summaries and also compliance investigations into issues detected at licensed sites.
The LEAP Online portal is now complete and provides access to the full set of enforcement information describing the enforcement activities, actions and communications between the EPA and holders of EPA licences and permits. The information can be viewed on desktop, tablet and mobile phone.
Commenting on the launch of LEAP Online, Mr Darragh Page, EPA Programme Manager said:
“The EPA want the public to have full access to environmental enforcement activities. The detailed compliance and enforcement information we make available through the LEAP Online portal allows the public to learn about nearby licensed operations and how they are performing in their obligations to protect their local environment. It also enables operators themselves to communicate directly with their neighbours about their environmental performance as they conduct their business, including how they address compliance issues when they occur “.

Tipperary Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to three house burglaries.
The break-ins occurred in the Lorrha – Rathcabbin area of North Tipperary over recent days, just last month.
Nenagh Gardaí have confirmed that a burglary occurred at a house near Grange Lorrha, on October 22nd last. The incident happened, during the day, sometime before 5:00pm.
Another house at Lelagh, Rathcabbin was also burglarised, between the 28nd and 29th of October last.
A third burglary took place also in Lorrha possibly on the evening of October 28th, sometime between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, during which we understand a small amount of cash was removed during the incident.
