It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 30th December 2023, of Mrs Christina Quinlan (née Maher), Clermont, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Gooldscross, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by her husband Paddy, her siblings Michael, Philip, Peter, Tom and Kitty, daughter-in-law MB, and granddaughter Lily; Mrs Quinlan passed away peacefully while in the care of staff at Ashlawn Nursing Home Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Catherine and Paula, sons John, Michael, Philip, Pat and David, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, Maura Quinlan and all her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Quinlan will repose at J.J. Ryan’s Funeral Home, Silver St, Knockanpierce,Nenagh on Monday afternoon next, January 1st, 2024 (New Year’s Day) from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
Her remains will be received into the Church of St. Ruadhan, Kilruane, Lisgarode, Co. Tipperary, [E45 N792] on Tuesday morning to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Lisboney New Cemetery, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) are warning that an increase in influenza and Covid-19 cases will lead to increased pressure on hospitals and the wider health service in the coming weeks.
This warning comes following a rise in the number of people with respiratory illnesses attending emergency departments this week.
This news also comes as Health Minister Mr Stephen Donnelly admits that there can be no end in sight to the trolley crisis at University Hospital Limerick, latter the medical facility serving North Tipperary.
On last Friday, December 29th at University Hospital, Limerick 14 persons were on trolleys in corridors, 22 were on trolleys in wards; in total 36 patients altogether on trolleys within UHL.
The dead man located at a rented house in Ballycrana, Kilross Co. Tipperary has been named locally as Mr Maciej Nowak, a Polish national aged 32 years.
This evening a 27-year-old man arrested by detectives on Thursday afternoon last, in Dublin, and named as Mr Tomasz Rozpeda; latter of no fixed abode, but originally also from Poland, was brought before a special sitting of Nenagh District Court, presided over by Judge Elizabeth MacGrath.
Mr Rozpeda is charged with assaulting Mr Nowak, causing him harm, latter who worked in the construction industry and was one of a number of Polish nationals renting the house at Ballycrana, Kilross.
We understand that Mr Nowak was celebrating his 32nd birthday on St. Stephen’s night with a number of other people, when the assault took place.
Solicitor for the accused, Mr Vincent McCormack, applied for legal aid and handed in a statement of means on his client’s behalf, before same was granted.
Judge Elizabeth MacGrath presiding, remanded the accused in custody, to appear in person before Tipperary District Court, which will sit in Nenagh, on next Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024.

Pre-deceased by her daughter Karen (McGuinness), grandson Spencer (McCall) and her brother Paddy; Mrs O’Neill sadly passed away unexpectedly, following a short illness, while in the care of staff at Fenor Hill Care Facility, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny.
Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family; devoted husband Tony, daughter Jackie (O’Sullivan), sons Gary and Ian, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Joe and Jim, daughters-in-law Claire and Julie, sisters Esther (Cornally) and Breda (Crick), brothers Joe, Tommy and Willie, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Catherine, Barbara, Phyl, Dympna and Cristina, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, on Monday morning, January 1st at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by a Cremation Service on Tuesday afternoon, January 2nd, 2024 at 2:00pm in Shannon Crematorium, Illaunmanagh, Shannon, Co. Clare, [V14 PV30].
