It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Tuesday 17th December 2024, of Mr Philip Ryan, Rathmoy, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Toomevara, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his beloved parents Jerry and Peg and his sister Mary; Mr Ryan passed away peacefully at his place of ordinary residence, surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; wife Mary (Butler Ryan), his son Trevor, daughter Lauren and their partners Eimear and Diarmuid, grandchildren Amelia and Tommy, his brothers Paddy, Ger and Stephen, sisters Nora, Margaret and Millie, uncle Tom (Jerry), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Ryan will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Castlequarter House, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, on Thursday afternoon from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening. His remains will be received into the nearby Church of the Sacred Heart, Pallas Street, Borrisland South, Borrisoleigh, Co. Tipperary on Friday morning, December 20th, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass, followed by a cremation service, in Shannon Crematorium, Illaunmanagh, Shannon, Co. Clare, (V14 PV30), at 3:00pm.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Monday 16th December 2024, of Mr John Lee, Cromhill, Kilteely, Co. Limerick, V94 RDP9; / Emly, Co. Tipperary and formerly Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his mother Mary, sister Sinéad, and niece Jessica; Mr Lee tragically passed away unexpectedly following a house fire, together with his loving father Mr Stephen Lee.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; wife and best friend Mary (nee Mulroe), daughter Aoife, son Stephen, sister Karen, brother Christopher, aunts, uncle, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Tipperary on Saturday morning, December 21st, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by a Cremation service in Shannon Crematorium, Illaunmanagh, Shannon, Co. Clare, (V14 PV30), at 2:00pm.

Pre-deceased by his wife Mary, daughter Sinead, grand daughter Jessica, brothers and sisters; Mr Lee tragically passed away following a fire at his home, together with his caring son Mr John Lee.

His funeral cortège will be received into the Church of Our Lady and St. Kevin, Littleton, Thurles, on Thursday morning, December 19th, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.

From Thursday 2nd January 2nd until – Saturday January 11th, 2025 Natural Christmas Trees, may be dropped off at the following locations in Co. Tipperary, free of charge.

Basketball training has been moving forward satisfactorily this season so far, with our new athlete members settling in very nicely. Thanks to all the volunteers and Mr Martin Hehir, at the Presentation Sports Hall, for their support.
We held our annual Christmas party in Meitheal on Wednesday, December 11th, and a great night was had by all present.
A big thank you to the Meitheal Staff; together with Mr Paul Scully from Photo Station, who looked after the photographs; Ms Rosalie Butler for the music and dance and all the athletes who sang on the night.
Training resumes on Wed 8th January and in the meantime, everyone associated with Thurles Special Olympics Basketball Club, do have a Very Happy Christmas.
