Death Of Joe Brennan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great personal sadness that I learned of the death, yesterday Monday 2nd June 2025, of Mr Joseph (Joe) Brennan (An Garda Síochána retired), Rossoulty, Upperchurch, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Shevry, Upperchurch, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and Freshford, Co. Kilkenny.

Pre-deceased by his parents David and Mary, sisters Mary and Helen and brother Jim; Mr Brennan passed away peacefully at his place of ordinary residence.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Breda, children, Lorraine, David, Sinead, Paddy, Mary and Jody, brother Frankie, sisters Bernadette, Kit, Noreen, Assumpta, Colette, grandchildren Méabh, Tadgh, Sarah, Erin, Anna, Fabio, Ruairí, Grainne, Dylan, Cillian, Joe, sons-in-law, Cristiano, Martin and Conor, daughter-in-law, Bridget, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Brennan will repose at O’Dwyer’s Funeral Home, Cappanaleigh, Upperchurch, Thurles, (Eircode E41 FN34), on Wednesday evening, June 4th, from 6:00pm until 8:30pm.
His remains will be received into the Church of Sacred Heart, Cappanaleigh, Upperchurch, Thurles, on Thursday morning, June 5th, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Templebeg Cemetery, Rosmult, Templebeg, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, today Tuesday 3rd June 2025, of Mr Andrew (Paulie) Boilson, Kylenoe, Horse and Jockey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his brothers Jimmy, Thos, Martin and Willie, sisters Peggy, Kitty, Mary and Angela; Mr Boilson passed away peacefully, following a long illness most bravely borne, while in the care of staff at Acorn Lodge Nursing Home, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; sons Barry, Andrew and Edward, their mother Bernie, devoted partner Anna, grandchildren Cate, Liam, Cillian and Ailbhe, daughters-in-law Fionnuala and Sarah, sister Anne (Clarke, Canada), nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Phil and Mary, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass for Mr Boilson will be celebrated on Friday morning, June 6th, at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in nearby Moycarkey Old Cemetery, Moycarkey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday, Sunday 1st June, 2025, of Mrs Mary Callanan (née Roche) Rosturra Crescent, Woodview Park, Limerick City, Co. Limerick and formerly of Mitchell Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Gus; sadly, Mrs Callanan passed away unexpectedly.

Limerick, on Saturday morning, June 7th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by a Service of Cremation, same day, at 1:00pm at Shannon Crematorium, Illaunmanagh, Shannon, Co. Clare, (Eircode V14 PV30).

Message: The Happy Pear are recalling the above batch of The Happy Pear Lovely Basil Pesto due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Nature Of Danger: Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Sunday 1st June 2025, of Mrs Elizabeth (Lizzy) Maher (née O’Halloran), Coolcroo, Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Lattin, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Edward (Neddy), brother Michael (Mickie), sisters Maureen (Kavanagh), Eileen (Maguire) and Patricia (Hanley); Mrs Maher, sadly, passed away unexpectedly, while in the care of staff of Fennor Hill Care Facility, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; daughter Ann, sons Martin and Dermot, grandchildren Ciarán, Diarmuid, Enya, Fionn, Aoibheann and Sean, son-in-law Richie (Whelan), daughter-in-law Norah, sister Joan (O’Donoghue, Lattin), nephews, nieces (especially Sean and Eimear), brothers-in-law Michael (Maguire) and Pat (Hanley), extended relatives, the Greyhound community, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
