It was with very great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 6th August 2025, of Ms Katie O’Keeffe, Turtulla, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and late of Cork.
Forever five; Ms O’Keeffe fell asleep peacefully at her place of residence, following a brave battle fought with great resilience and courage.
Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving parents Siobhàn and Kevin, little sister Ròisìn, grandparents Gerard and Josephine (Fahey) and Kevin and Esther (O’Keeffe), aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
Mass of the Angels will take place on Sunday next, August 10th, at 12:00 noon, in St. Peter’s Church, Moycarkey, Thurles, followed immediately afterwards, by her earthly remains being laid to rest in Aglish Cemetery, Graigaheesha, Gortnahoe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, with family and close friends in attendance.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle collision which took place last night on the Old Dublin Road (Route 445) on the outskirts of Nenagh, in North Tipperary.
The collision is believed to have taken place shortly after 10:00pm and Gardaí and the Emergency Services were quickly alerted.
The driver of the vehicle, a male, understood to be aged in his 40s was sadly discovered unresponsive at the scene and his body has since been removed to University Hospital Limerick, where the county Coroner has been notified. The accident scene was preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, however we learn that the road has since reopened to public access.
Nenagh Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have any information regarding the crash to come forward. Gardaí are anxious to obtain camera footage, including dash-cam video, from any persons who may have travelled this route between 9:00pm and 10:30pm last night

An elderly male, understood to be aged in his 70s, has lost his life in a house fire in west Co. Tipperary.
The alarm was raised at 6:30am and Gardaí and Emergency Services attended quickly at the scene this morning, Wednesday August 6th; latter at a domestic residence situated in the townland of Ballinree, Boherlahan, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.
Fire services quickly extinguished the blaze at the property and discovered the male; the sole occupant of the dwelling, dead at the scene.
The county coroner has now been notified and a post-mortem will be undertaken shortly.
While Garda enquiries remain ongoing to establish the cause of the fire, it is understood that no foul play is currently being suspected.

Pre-deceased by his brother George; Mr Phelan passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at the Cork University Hospital.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Ann (née Dowling, late of Collins Barracks), sons John, Garret, and Colin, daughter Alison, sister Rena, brothers Frank, Jimmy and Michael, sisters-in-law Betty and Kay, brother-in-law John, daughters-in-law Eilis and Ann-Marie, son-in-law Gary, grandchildren Isobel, Nathan, Chloe and Emma, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Phelan will repose at Jerh O’Connor Funeral Home, Temple Hill, Boreenmanna Road, Co. Cork, this afternoon, Wednesday August 6th, from 5:00pm until 6:00pm same evening. His remains will be received into the Catholic Church of St. Michael, 204 Blackrock Rd, Blackrock, Co. Cork, (Eircode T12 F8R9), on tomorrow morning, Thursday August 7th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, to nearby St. Michael’s Cemetery, Blackrock, Co. Cork.
