Death Of Raymond Smyth, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, today Sunday 10th August 2025 of Mr Raymond Smyth, ‘Garland’, Graigue Lower, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Bobby and Phoebie and grandson baby Dylan; Mr Smyth passed away peacefully at his place of ordinary residence, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Wendy, sons Edmund, Alan and Graham, daughter Rachel and their partners, grandchildren Danielle, Carly, Jamie, Claudia, Harriet, Evan, Eva, Freddie and Tommy, bothers, sister, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Smyth will repose at his private residence (Eircode E41 KD62) on Tuesday afternoon from 5:00pm with removal at 7:00pm same evening to the Church of St Mary, Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm, followed by interment in the Old Graveyard, River Street, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Denis O’Dwyer, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, today Saturday 9th August 2025, of Mr Denis O’Dwyer, Coolawn, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mr O’Dwyer, sadly, passed away while in the care of staff at Padre Pio Nursing Home, Holycross Thurles.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The earthly remains of Mr O’Dwyer will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Castle Quarter, Borrisoleigh, Thurles (Eircode E41 VX81) on tomorrow afternoon, Sunday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, before being received into the Church of the Sacred Heart, Pallas Street, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, same evening.
Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr O’Dwyer on Monday morning at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in nearby Glenkeen Old Graveyard, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Second Single Vehicle Fatal Collision In Co. Tipperary Within Three Days.

Cahir Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle collision on the N24 at Kilmoyler, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, today Saturday, August 9th, 2025.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision at 10:40am this morning, however, sadly the driver and sole occupant of the car, a male aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

This latest fatality comes following the death of a male on Wednesday night, after being found unresponsive in his vehicle, following yet another single-vehicle collision, on the Dublin Road outside Nenagh, in the north of the county.

Today’s fatality in the south of the county was removed to Tipperary University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have completed an examination of the scene, and are now appealing for any witnesses/road users who may have been travelling in the area, between the hours 10:00am and 11:00am, and who may have camera or dash-cam footage, to make same available to investigating officers.

Death Of Anne Duggan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, today Saturday 9th August 2025 of Mrs Anne Duggan (née Tierney) Newtown, Drangan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Kilberry, Athy, Co. Kildare.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Paddy, brother John Joe, sisters Marie and Carmel; Mrs Duggan passed away peacefully while in the care of staff at St Anthony’s Nursing Home, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving daughters Aine and Carmel, son Padraig, sister Gertie, sons-in-law Kevin and Richard. daughter-in-law Siobhain, grandchildren Daniel, Alice, Michael, Luke, Niamh, Caoimhe, Ellen, Anna and Padraig, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Requiem Mass will be offered for Mrs Duggan on Tuesday morning, August 12th, at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in the adjoining old graveyard.

Death Of Ian Walsh, Co. Tipperary.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Mr Ian Walsh, the 49-year-old man, late of Irish Rail, who was found dead at his home in Ravenswood, Cregg Road, Carrick-on-Suir, Co.Tipperary, on Monday last, August 4th 2025.

A postmortem carried out on Wednesday last, found that Mr Walsh had sustained several visible injuries, which have led Gardaí in Clonmel to upgrade the case to a murder investigation.

Sadly, Mr Walsh was discovered unresponsive by family members at his place of ordinary residence and Gardaí are now examining all of the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.

Iarnród Éireann have paid tribute to Mr Walsh, describing him as a “well-known and popular colleague” with a deep passion for railway heritage and transport tourism.
Rail heritage group ‘Táilte Tours’ have also issued a heartfelt tribute, describing Mr Walsh as a pioneer of unique rail tours and a generous source of knowledge and support.

Predeceased by his father Philip and grandparents the passing of Mr Walsh is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; heartbroken mother Breda Forristal, his brother Paul and Paul’s partner Rachel, uncle Mick Forristal and family, godmother Marian Butler, Mary McCahill (wife of the late Philip Walsh) and Aishling Fogarty, extended relatives, work colleagues at Irish Rail, and his many friends at Bus Eireann, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

A Service of Cremation will take place in the Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, on Tuesday August 12th, at 3:00pm
