Death Of Betty Mason, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Monday 24th May 2021, of Mrs Betty Mason (née Hennessy), Chichester, West Sussex, England and formerly of Gurtahoola, Drombane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Jack and sister Mary (Hennessy); Mrs Mason passed away unexpectedly, while in the care of staff at Bournemouth Hospital, England.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her partner Bob, daughters Theresa, Elizabeth and Johanna, son Barry, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, brother Ned Hennessy (Drombane) and Dick Hennessy (Boherlahan), sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Mason will repose for Requiem Mass on Friday morning next, June 18th in Chichester Cathedral, West Sussex, UK at 10:15am, followed by interment in Chichester Cemetery.

Death Of Allie Hogan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, today Monday 14th June 2021, of Mrs Alice (Allie) Hogan (née O’Brien, Publican), Ballysloe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Predeceased by her brothers Tom and Hugh and sisters Maura, Eileen and Nonie; Mrs Hogan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and while in the loving care of staff at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving husband Michael, son William, daughter Valerie, William’s partner Edel, sisters Margaret and Kitty, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Hogan will repose at Doyle’s Funeral Home, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny on Tuesday evening, June 15th, from 5:30pm until 7:30pm, before being received into the Church of the Sacred Heart, Gortnahoe, Thurles on Wednesday morning, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am. Same will be followed immediately afterwards by interment in Fennor Cemetery.

Death Of Judy Ryan, Clonoulty, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 12th June 2021, of Ms Josephine (Judy) Ryan, St. John’s Villas, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Coolanga, Rossmore, Co. Tipperary.

Ms Ryan passed away peacefully while in the care of staff at St. Teresa’s Nursing Home, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her son Richard, granddaughters Josephine, Pauline and Denise, grandson Denis, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Ms Ryan will repose at her home on Monday evening for family and close friends.
Her earthly remains will be received into the Church of Jesus Christ Our Saviour, Rossmore, Cashel, arriving on Tuesday morning to repose for requiem Mass at 11:00am.
Same will be followed immediately afterwards by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Covid-19 Cases Increase In North Tipperary.

We had stopped reporting on daily Covid-19 cases here on Thurles.Info in the belief that we were over the worst and with our Tipperary economy beginning to reopen once again.

However, figures released yesterday by the Department of Public Health Mid-West shows that there was a rise in north Tipperary cases from 5 cases on Thursday last, to 11 cases on the following day, Friday.

Meanwhile, Tipperary’s neighbouring counties of Limerick and Clare also saw large increases.
In Co. Limerick Covid-19 cases increased to 78 on Friday, latter a rise of 34 over the preceding 24 hours, while 11 new cases were confirmed in Co. Clare over the same 24 hour period, bringing the total number of cases in this region to over 1,600 in the past month, including 950 new cases confirmed in the previous 14 days.

The above information comes on the back of news that the vaccination centre, based at Limerick Racecourse, Greenmount Park, Main St, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick, will close on four dates in June and July, to facilitate race meetings.

The above figures comes also as concerns continue to be raised regarding the Delta variant and how it may affect Ireland’s reopening plans.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr Simon Coveney has warned that tighter travel restrictions between Ireland and the UK, may be required to halt the spread of the Delta variant here in the Irish Republic.

Please do continue to wear face coverings and to socially distance. The latter has proven to have significantly limited the spread of COVID-19.

Death Of Michael Corbett, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 12th June 2021, of Mr Michael Corbett, Henry Laffan Heights, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The passing of Mr Corbett is most deeply regretted by his loving family, sons Anthony & Michael, daughter-in-law, grandson, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Corbett, will repose at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, Killenaule, Thurles, on Monday evening from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
His remains will be received into the Church of St. Mary, Bailey Street, Killenaule, Thurles on Tuesday morning at 11:15am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by cremation in The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Spike Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.
