It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, on Monday 26th July 2021, of Mr James (Jim) Witherow, Carshalton, Surrey and formerly of Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr Witherow passed away peacefully following a short illness.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his daughters Debbi and Rachael, son Luke, their mother Elice, his wife Breda, stepson Kieran, stepdaughter Geraldine, his sister Eleanor (Eastbourne), his brothers Paddy (Kilkenny) and Larry (Dundalk), sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, today Thursday 29th July 2021, of Sr. Patricia (Eileen) O’Byrne, Presentation Sisters, Cúl na Cille, Kilcock, Co. Kildare and and late of Lismolin, Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Sr. Patricia passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and her Presentation Sister colleagues, while in the wonderful care of the sisters and staff at Our Lady’s Manor, Dalkey, Co. Dublin.
Her passing is most deeply regretted by her brother Fr. John O’Byrne C.M.F., (Botwell, Middlesex, England), her niece Teresa (Lismolin), nephew-in-law Gus, grandniece Olga, extended relatives, Presentation Sisters, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Sr. Patricia will be received into the Church of St. Coca, No.2 Church St, Commons East, Kilcock, Co. Kildare, [W23 Y566] for evening prayers on Friday evening July 30th, at 6:00pm.
Her body will repose for Requiem Mass on Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm, followed immediately afterwards by interment in the adjoining graveyard.
For the many persons who would have liked to have attended evening prayers and the funeral service for Sr. Patricia, but are unable to do so, due to current coronavirus pandemic restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.
[NB: Due to Public Health Guidelines, regarding C-19 virus restrictions; those attending (limited to 50 mourners) will continue to observe strict adherence to social distancing and face covering.]

It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 28th July 2021, of Mr William (Billy) Johnston, Killahara, Dovea, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and late of Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by his parents Hubert and Nonie, brothers Sean and Micháel; Mr Johnston passed away suddenly, at his place of residence.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his son Wayne, grandchildren Kieran and Luke, daughter-in-law Michelle, sisters Phil, Ursula, Betty, Angela, Patricia, Ann and Bernadette, brother Paud, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, extended relatives, Jennifer, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Johnston will repose in Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Sunday afternoon, August 1st, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
The funeral cortège, bearing the body of Mr Johnston, will be received into the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Loughmore, Templemore, on Monday morning, August 2nd, at 11:00am, to repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am.
Interment will follow immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,361 new cases of Covid-19 in the Irish Republic. There remain 160 patients in our hospitals, all who have tested positive for the disease, a rise of 8 patients in the past 24 hours. The number of persons in our ICU’s remains unchanged at 26.
Here in the Irish Republic Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Holohan has stated that the incidence of Covid-19 in Ireland is mainly among those aged 13 to 34 years.
In Northern Ireland, there have been 1,471 new infections and, sadly, 2 deaths reported over the same period.
These figures confirm a combined total of 2,832 covid-19 cases on the island of Ireland over the past 24 hours; down 176 on yesterday’s combined figures.
While Chief medical officer Dr. Tony Holohan stated last Wednesday that Ireland had one of the highest rates of vaccine uptakes in the world, and added that the country could be just “weeks away” from lifting further restrictions; An Taoiseach Mr Micheál Martin has ruled out the possibility of a massive easing of Covid-19 restrictions, similar to England’s so called “freedom day”.
Meanwhile, the European Medicines Agency said it has confidence in the safety and efficacy of mRNA Covid-19 vaccines for use among those aged 12 to 15 year olds. EMA Executive Director Ms Emer Cooke has stated that the already impressive performance of both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines in older populations, has been replicated in children’s trials.

Mr Maher passed away peacefully at his place of residence in New York.
Pre-deceased by his brothers Nicholas, Dick, Paddy, John, Mickie, Jimmy, and Mary Kearns; his passing is most deeply regretted by his wife Kathleen, sons Michael, Timmy, Peter and Stephen, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Mary and Mary, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

A Memorial Mass will also takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Boherlahan, Co. Tipperary on Saturday evening July 31st at 7:30pm.
