Death Of Patrick Lysaght, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret and sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 1st September 2021 of Mr Patrick Lysaght, Loughlinstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Kilcommon, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Predeceased by his brother Dinny and sister Mary-Ann; Mr Lysaght passed away while in the care of staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Rosemary, immediate family members Annemarie, Caroline and Louise, son-in-law Andrew and granddaughter Lucy, brothers Mick (Australia), Frank (Dublin), and sister Mary (Tipperary), sisters-in-law Robyn and Hannah, brother-in-law John Joe Keenan (Longford), nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Lysaght will repose privately for Requiem Mass, attended by family members only.

Further 2,544 Covid-19 Cases Reported On Mainland Of Éire.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,751 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours here in the Republic of Ireland.

There are 343 people in our hospital, having tested positive for the disease and of these, 59 are receiving treatment in our intensive care units, latter number showing a rise of 3 on yesterdays reported figures.

According to recorded data, there were 52 deaths linked to probable Covid-19 last month, August 2021.

In Northern Ireland, the Department of Health has announced a further 793 new confirmed cases of the virus in the last 24-hour period.

This morning there were 417 patients suffering from the virus in northern hospitals, with 46 of these in intensive care units.
Sadly, a further 12 people, in the last 24 hours, who had been diagnosed with Covid-19, have died.

Death Of Kathleen Long, Formerly Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret and sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 1st September 2021, of Mrs Kathleen Long (née Ryan), Togher Road, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny and formerly Woodford, Goolds Cross, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary.

In her 87th year; Mrs Long passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny.

Predeceased by her parents Dick and Nancy and sisters Mary and Delia: the passing of Mrs Long is most deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Mick, her loving son and daughter Michael and Mary, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Frances, adoring grandson Jack, brothers Dick and John, sisters Nancy, Sheila and Betty, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Long will repose for Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 11:00am in the Church of the Assumption Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny, attended by family members and close friends. Mass will be followed by interment immediately afterwards in the Mill Cemetery, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny.

Daughter Of Euromillions Winner Granted Free Legal Aid.

Taxpayers in the Irish Republic will fund the legal costs in relation to the daughter of former Euromillions winner, Dolores McNamara, in a court case involving alleged unlawful cocaine possession.

Today, Solicitor Mr Daragh Hassett obtained legal aid at Ennis District Court, thus allowing him to represent 37 year old Ms Kevanne McNamara.

Ms McNamara’s close family connection to the €115 million winner, of August 2005, was not discussed during the hearing and Ms McNamara was not required to attend the court in person and therefore did not appear.

Ms McNamara stands accused in relation to a minor drugs charge, contrary to Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.

Judge Ms Mary Larkin adjourned the case to October 6th next, same to be heard at Ennis District Courthouse.

Death Of Margaret Hickey, Formerly of Hollyford, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret and sadness that we learned of the death, on Monday 30th, August 2021, of Ms Margaret Hickey, Sydney, Australia and formerly of Toureen, Hollyford, Co. Tipperary.

The passing of Ms Hickey is most deeply regretted by her brothers Frank, Richard and Willie, her sister Catherine, nieces Jessica, Michelle and Ciara, nephews Michael, Robert, Davie and Walter, grandnephew Jack, sisters-in-law, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and her large circle of great friends.

Ms Hickey will repose for Requiem Mass in Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday next, September 8th, at 11:00am, Australian time (2:00am Irish Time) .
The ashes of Ms Hickey will be flown home to Ireland at a later date.
