It was with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, on Sunday 5th September 2021, of Mr Patrick (Paddy) Liston, Windsor Grove, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Moyneard, Moyne, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his brothers Dick and Robert and his sister Pauline O’Gorman (Clonmel): Mr Liston passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, at his place of residence.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his sisters Josephine, Marie (Moylan, Sydney) and Frances (Walsh), brothers Willie and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended relatives, his carer Colette, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Liston will be received into the Church of St. Mary, Moyne, Thurles on Thursday afternoon, to repose for Requiem Mass at 1:00pm. Mass will be followed by private cremation in the Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Spike Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

The world is from the beginning
In a woman’s arms;
She is the beginning of each beginning
In an ebb and flow, unending mystery.
Say that you love her, even hate her,
But never say her mystery is yours.
You may touch upon it, at best,
Be captivated by its spell,
Rail against that mystery,
Betray all for it,
Heart and home, faith and fatherland,
All that you hold dear,
Fades before a woman’s wonder.
Kingdoms fall and nations go to war,
A thousand ships have sailed for her face,
The strong have been reduced by her,
The weak with her are strong as strong could be.
Cowards rise to heroism,

Because of a woman’s mystery.

It’s time for Thurles gardeners to get their watering cans out and their Factor 50+ on again, because Tipperary is set to enjoy an unexpected spell of warm September sunshine.
A warm plume of air is credited with bringing summer-like conditions to our shores this Autumn. From now until Wednesday, temperatures are set to hit highs of between 21 and 24 degrees Celsius.
Be sure and make the most of this dry spell, because it is not expected to stay with us for very long. Scattered outbreaks of rain, coming from the south, are set to hit us here in Co. Tipperary as early as Thursday next.
With Autumn leaves already starting to fall, this joyous bout of summer sunshine may be our last for many months.

Pre-deceased by his brothers Paddy, Mattie, Mick, Jim, Phil and Tom, sisters Masie, Alice and Win; Mr Carroll, sadly, passed away suddenly, at his place of residence.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his brother Joe, sister in law Mary-Jo, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, great-grand-nephews, great-grand-nieces, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Carroll will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Wednesday evening September 8th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
His body will be received into the Abbey Church, at Holycross, Thurles on Thursday morning, September 9th, at 11:30am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon.
Interment will take place immediately afterwards in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Moycarkey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mr Carroll, but are unable to do so, due to current virus restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,144 new cases of Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 384 people in hospital with Covid-19, up a further 22 cases on yesterday’s figures. Of these, the number of people being treated in intensive care units remains static at 59.
On a more positive note; the latest data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre confirms a further reduction in the 14-day incidence of Covid-19 here in the Irish Republic
To date some 89.3% of adults in Ireland are now fully vaccinated, while those aged 16 years and older, some 87.9% are fully vaccinated. Those aged over 12 years shows 82.6% are now fully vaccinated, with 9,500 people taking advantage of vaccines at walk-in vaccination centres over this past weekend.
Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, there were 1,764 new cases confirmed, up 532 cases on yesterdays reported figures. Sadly, 9 deaths related to Covid-19 were also reported in the past 24 hours.
