Covid-19 Cases Reach 3,218 Today On Irish Mainland.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,470 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, here in the Irish republic.

There are 367 people being treated for the virus in hospital, with the number of people in intensive care units remaining static at 59.
Some 70% of the Irish republic’s population are now fully vaccinated.

On a less positive note, the HSE estimates that between 10,000 and 12,000 pupils are currently out of school, having to self-isolate because they have been deemed to be close contacts.

In Northern Ireland today, 1,748 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported. This morning, there were 461 Covid-19 patients in hospital, 45 of whom were in intensive care. Sadly, a further seven deaths were also reported in the last 24 hour period.

Demand for COVID-19 testing continues to remains strong in Co. Tipperary, with well over 1,000 tests conducted in the north of the county in the past seven weeks, most of which appear to have been brought about through the opening up of the hospitality sector.

Death Of Michael Ormond, Loughmore, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, yesterday, Monday 6th September 2021, of Mr Michael Ormond, Whitefield, Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary

Predeceased by his brother Jim and brother in law Phil; the passing of Mr Ormond is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, daughters Grace and Bríd, sons Michael, Thomas and Paul, daughters-in-law Nell, Mary and Ruth, sons-in-law Odhran and Fergal, grandchildren Daire, Fearghal, Cormac, Muireann, Grace, Michael, James, Sara-Jayne, Moira, Jack, Isabella, Mila, Evie and Faye, sister Nancy, sisters-in-law Rena and Sr. Margaret, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Ormond will repose at his residence on Thursday evening, September 8th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for family, friends and neighbours.
His body will be received into the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Loughmore, Templemore, to further repose for Requiem Mass on Friday, September 10th, at 12:00 noon.
Interment will follow immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Mary Jo Ryan, Loughmore, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, yesterday, Monday 6th September 2021, of Mrs Mary Jo Ryan (née McGrath), Whitefield, Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Jack, sister Nancy, brothers Mick, Richard and Phil, daughter-in-law Louise; Mrs Ryan passed away peacefully at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing will be sadly missed by her family, daughters Eileen (Fennelly), Catherine (Cummins) and Peggy (Eviston), sons Tom and Ned, sister Peggy (Connolly), brother John, 15 cherished grandchildren, great-grandchild, sons-in-law John, Paddy and Conor, daughters-in-law Anne and Ada, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Drugs Valued At €13,000 Seized In Cashel Co. Tipperary.

Investigations are ongoing, following the seizure by Cashel Gardaí of cannabis herb and cocaine, with an estimated street value of some €13,000.

The seizure was made in the townland of Hugh’s Lot East in Cashel town, on Saturday September 4th last. Same seizure follows ongoing Garda investigation into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Brigid Mary Bourke, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Monday 6th September 2021, of Mrs Maureen (Brigid Mary) Bourke (née Ryan), Bailey Street, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her sister Anne; Mrs Bourke passed away, while in the care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving husband Michael, her immediate family Patricia, Michael, Kevin, Jim, Paul and Kieran, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Veronica, Christina, Ursula, Rosemarie and brother Tony, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.
