Message: Almond and peanut were detected in the above batch of Goldfish Brand Hot & Spicy Curry Sauce Concentrate, however they are not declared in the list of ingredients. In addition, the label states that the product is “Made in a nut free factory.” This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds and/or peanuts and therefore, these consumers should not eat the implicated batch.
The affected batch is being recalled.
It was with sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 17th October 2025 of Mr Joe Tynan No 42 Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Tynan passed away peacefully while in the care of South Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Nancy, sons Gerry, Patrick and Fr. Joe (Parish Priest, Knocklong), daughter Jennifer (Hawes), sister Betty Rigney, (Roscrea), daughter-in-law Maria, Gerry’s fiancé Dorothy, son-in-law Gerard, grandchildren Brendan, Conor, Alannah, Jemma, James and great granddaughter Alayna, nephews, nieces, in-laws, extended relatives, neighbours, friends and carers Beatrice and Catherine.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Tynan will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 XY47), on Sunday afternoon, October 19th, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, (Eircode E41 A528) at 7:30pm same evening. Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Tynan, on Monday morning, October 20th at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

A man is due to appear in court this morning charged with the murder of an 89-year-old woman in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.
Mr Hasan Ali Gori, who is currently serving a prison sentence, will appear before Nenagh District Court charged in connection with the death of Mrs Josephine Ray.
Mrs Ray was found deceased in the bedroom of her home at St Joseph’s Park, Nenagh, last April 2024. Mr Gori, who had been in a relationship with Mrs Ray’s daughter Mary, was living with the family at the time of the pensioner’s death.
Following the discovery, Mr Gori was questioned by Gardaí and later released without charge pending further investigation. A file was subsequently prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, leading to today’s charge.
The accused, who has no fixed address, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment last September for assaulting two members of An Garda Síochána. While in custody, he was involved in a series of violent incidents and was hospitalised in intensive care, following an assault, but has since recovered and returned to Portlaoise Prison.
In a statement, Gardaí confirm that a male in his 50s has been charged in relation to the investigation surrounding Mrs Ray’s death on the afternoon of Sunday, August 4th 2024. The accused is due to appear before Nenagh District Court this morning, Friday, October 17th 2025, at 10:30am.
It was with sadness that we learned of the death, today, Thursday 16th October 2025, of Mr Geurt van den Dikkenberg, Balloughboy, Ballinure, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr van den Dikkenberg sadly passed away peacefully at his place of ordinary residence.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Anneke, daughter Fiona, sons Conor and Colin, son-in-law Darren, daughters-in-law Maria and Rachel, grandchildren Jacob, Freddie, Ethan and Mícheál, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The remains of Mr van den Dikkenberg will repose at Devitt’s Funeral Home, The Green, Cashel, (Eircode E25 P383), on tomorrow afternoon, Friday October 17th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening. A service of cremation will take place privately later.
