The wedding took place recently of Karen Cavanagh, daughter of Mrs Ellen and Mr Billy Cavanagh, Cloughjordan, Co.Tipperary, to Michael McLoughney, son of Mrs Eileen and Mr Paddy McLoughney, Borrisokane, Co.Tipperary.

The couple choose the bride’s parish church, St.Kieran’s Church, Cloughjordan, Co.Tipperary, as the venue to publically declare their marriage vows.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. Canon Stephen Neill and Fr. Tom Hannon PP in front of a large gathering of friends and relatives, with church music provided by the wonderful Borrisokane Gospel Choir.

Following the ceremony the newlywed couple retired to the popular Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, Co.Tipperary, joining guests for light refreshments and family photographs.

Later in the evening the new Mr and Mrs McLoughney together with their guests celebrated the event by enjoying a lavish banquet at the hotel, which was followed by music and dancing late into the night.

The happy couple are presently enjoying their honeymoon touring in America and from all your relatives and many friends in Tipperary go our good wishes for a long and prosperous life together.

Wedding took place recently of the very lovely Miss Natasha McCarthy, daughter of Mrs Caroline and Mr Ken McCarthy, Borrisokane, Co.Tipperary, to Mr Peter Clarke, son of Mrs Mildred and the late Mr George Clarke, Dromineer, Co.Tipperary.

A stunning bride was escorted down the aisle by her father Ken and the ceremony was performed by Revd Marie Rowley-Brooke in the quaint historic eighteen century church of Killodiernanin, close to Puckawn, in the diocese of Killaloe.  Here, the couple publicly proclaimed their love for each other in front of a large gathering of family and friends before joining family members for photographs.

Following the event the new Mr and Mrs Clarke retired to the Shannon Oaks Hotel and Country Club, latter situated in the picturesque village of Portumna, Co. Galway overlooking the shores of Lough Derg.

Guests were entertained to a champagne reception before joining the newly married couple at a lavish banquet, which was followed by music and dancing late into the evening.

The couple have chosen the Caribbean and West Indies as their favoured honeymoon destination and from all their many friends and admirers in Co.Tipperary, go best wishes to them both for a happy and very prosperous life together.

Wedding of Teresa And Gerard

Warm Irish sunshine beamed brightly down on at least one very happy local Tipperary couple yesterday.

The very lovely Miss Teresa Keane, daughter of Breda and Thomas Keane, Holycross, Thurles, Co Tipperary and Mr Gerard Shorley, son of Joan and Seamus Shorley, Drish, Thurles, Co.Tipperary choose yesterday to declare their love publicly in front of a large congregation of family and friends.

The magnificent and historic Abbey of Holycross was their chosen venue for their marriage ceremony, presided over by celebrant and local parish priest Fr.Tom Breen.  A stunning bride, was escorted down the isle by her father Thomas Keane, who, incidentally, was celebrating his own wedding anniversary with wife Breda.  Thomas and Breda were married thirty nine years previously on exactly the same day and same date. Congratulations to you both.

Following the ceremony the happy couple together with their families and friends moved to the near-bye town of Thurles, and to the Anner Hotel where the couple shared a wee drop of champagne and were photographed, before entertaining their guests to a lavish reception.
Celebrations will continue until Tuesday when the new Mr & Mrs Shorley are expected to travel on honeymoon to Jamaica in the Caribbean.

Local Wedding At Historic Abbey

Edel-NoelThe historic Abbey of  Holycross, Thurles, Co.Tipperary was the scene for the recent wedding of a local Holycross couple.

Edel Shanahan, daughter of Peggy and the late John Joe Shanahan, Galbertstown, Holycross and Noel Ryan son of Teresa and Bill Ryan Cormackstown, Holycross, both publicly proclaimed their love for each other in front of a very large gathering of friends and family.

The ceremonies chief celebrant was Rev. Fr John Ryan, an uncle of the groom who was visiting Holycross, on leave from his parish in Malawi, southeast Africa.

Following the ceremony Edel and Noel entertained their guests with an afternoon garden party in the wonderful gardens of the Anner Hotel Thurles, Co Tipperary, followed later in the evening with a lavish six course banquet.

Music and dancing continued well into the early hours, before the happy couple took their leave, departing on honeymoon for a tour of America.

Crampton And Hewson Join Forces

HewsonThe prevailing wind and rain were totally ignored when the very lovely Miss Nicola Crampton, daughter of Mr Joseph and Mrs Ann Crampton wed Mr Geoffrey Hewson, son of Mr Alan and Mrs Renie Hewson, at St.Brigid’s Church, Clonakenny, Co.Tipperary recently.

Following the wedding ceremony, which was performed in front of a large gathering of friends and family, the new Mr and Mrs Hewson moved to the historic town of Birr, Co Offaly, where they entertained their many guests with a reception in the luxurious four star County Arms Hotel .

The happy couple choose the region of Dubrovnik as their destination for their three week honeymoon together.
