The Department of Health this evening has confirmed that there has been no further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,718.
There have been 320 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 238,466.
In Northern Ireland, sadly 2 further Covid-related deaths were reported together with 89 new virus cases.
There have been 5493 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including April 3rd, 2021.
There are 260 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 58 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.
An Tánaiste Mr Leo Varadkar has stated that the vaccination programme will be further accelerated in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, some 655,292 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered here in Ireland up to April 2nd, with 268,586 persons having received their second dose.
The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5:00pm this evening, now stands at well over 131.43 million confirmed, with global deaths at well over 2.85 million.

There have been zero coronavirus deaths recorded in Northern Ireland during the past 24 hours.
There have been 511 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 237,695.

There have been 591 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 237,187.
Of the cases today; 288 cases confirmed in Dublin, 40 in Kildare, 30 in Meath, 28 in Westmeath, 27 in Laois, with the other 178 remaining cases located across 19 other counties.
There have been 5459 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including March 31st, 2021. There have been 253 cases confirmed in the past 14 days ending April 1st, with a further 11 new cases confirmed within the past 24 hours.

On Easter Saturday, April 3rd, Thurles Sarsfields GAA Club are hosting an online kids’ hurling and football zoom session with its club stars Ronan Maher, Karen Kennedy and Marie Creedon.
The session starts at 11:00 a.m. and is suitable for ages 6+. It costs only €5 to take part and all proceeds are in aid of the running costs of Thurles Sarsfields’ teams.
As already stated the session will be undertaken by three of Thurles Sarsfields’ biggest role models, Ronan Maher, Marie Creedon and Karen Kennedy.
Ronan Maher is a Sarsfields and Tipperary Senior Hurler, one of the top hurlers in Ireland, winning 2 All-Irelands with Tipperary and has been twice an All-Star. He has so far won 5 County Senior Hurling titles with Thurles Sarsfields and 4 County U21 Titles.
Marie Creedon is a Sarsfields and Tipperary Ladies Footballer, and has won an All-Ireland Intermediate title with Tipperary, and Captained the Thurles Sarsfields Ladies Football team to an Intermediate County Football Title in 2020.
Karen Kennedy is a Sarsfields and Tipperary Camogie Player and the 2020 All-Star Camogie Centre Back. She has captained Tipperary to underage All-Irelands and was one of the Thurles Sarsfields Camogie team which won the Intermediate County Camogie Title in 2020.
This will be a fun online training session run by three of the Club’s shining Stars. All you need is a hurley, a sliotar / tennis ball and a football.
