Death Of Jackie Cooke, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 3rd October 2025, of Mr Jackie Cooke, Childers Park, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mr Cooke passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, while in the care of staff at the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Alice (née Shanahan), parents Eddie and Mary, sister Biddy and brother Tom; his passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving son Trevor, daughter Olivia, daughter-in-law Marcella, brother Eddie, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Kathleen and Nell, extended relatives, colleagues in Thurles Sarsfield’s Social Center, great neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Cooke will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievnamon Road, Thurles on Sunday afternoon, October 5th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm same evening.
His remains will be received into the Church of St Joseph and St Brigid, Bothar na Naomh, Thurles, on Monday morning, October 6th at 10:30am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Mary Lanigan Ryan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 1st October 2025, of Mrs Mary Lanigan Ryan, (née O’Dwyer), Main Street, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Carrigdawson, Latteragh, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her parents Thomas and Agnes, brothers John, James C, Thomas and William; sadly, Mrs Lanigan Ryan passed away while in the care of staff at University Hospital Limerick.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving husband Tommy, sons Fr. Tom and Noel, daughters Agnes (Flaherty) and Madeline (Ryan J), sisters Lily and Ann, sons-in-law Seamus and Stephen, brothers-in-law Danny and Keith, sister-in-law Mary, grandchildren Tim, Peg, Mary and Patrick, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mrs Lanigan Ryan will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Castle Quarter, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, (Eircode E41 VX81) on Friday afternoon, October 3rd, from 4:30pm, before being received into the nearby Church of the Sacred Heart, Pallas Street, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, at 7:00pm same evening.
Requiem Mass for Mrs Lanigan Ryan will be offered on Saturday morning, October 4th, at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Drom Cemetery, Templemore, Co. Tipperary (Eircode E41 CX53).

Death Of Dick Shelley, Late Of Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 1st October 2025, of Mr Richard (Dick) Shelley, Lisnagar, Rathcormac, Co. Cork and late of Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary

Mr Shelley passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, while in the care of staff at Mercy University Hospital, Cork.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Mary (nee Canning), sisters Ciss (Johnson) and Mary (O’Brien); his passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; son Alan, Alan’s partner Liam, daughter Nicola, sister Kitty (Condon), brother Thomas, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains will be received into the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Main St, Rathcormack, Co. Cork, on Saturday morning, October 4th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in the local cemetery.

Death Of Dr. Martin Mansergh, Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, on Friday 26th September 2025, of former politician, (Senator and Minister of State), Dr Martin Mansergh, Friarsfield House, Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary.

Sadly, Dr. Mansergh passed away unexpectedly in Western Sahara, while on a visit to Morocco.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Elizabeth (née Young), son Danny, daughters Fiona, Lucy, Alice and Harriet, grandchildren, brothers and sister extended relatives, political confidants, neighbours and friends.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, on Saturday last, September 27th 2025 of Mr Patrick Fayne, Oakland Drive, Ennis Road, Co. Limerick and late of Thurles Co. Tipperary, Aer Lingus and the Racing Bord.

Pre-deceased by his parents, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, son-in-law Brendan and granddaughter Aoife; Mr Fayne passed away peacefully, at his place of ordinary residence, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Marian, son Paul, daughters Ann, Tracy and Kate, grandchildren Aaron, Niamh, David, Avril, Sean and Blake, daughter-in-law Linda, sons-in-law Barry and Andrew, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.
