Death Of Paddy Tobin, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Sunday 9th February 2025 of Mr Patrick (Paddy) Tobin, No.23, St Patrick’s Terrace, The Commons, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Johanne (Josie) and Richard (Dick), his brothers Michael and Jimmy, his sister Alice and brother-in-law John; Mr Tobin sadly passed away suddenly at University Hospital Cork.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; brothers and sisters Maureen, Joan, Ritchie, Maggie, Bernie, Peter, Joe and brothers-in-law Paddy, John and Danny, his loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Tobin will repose at Dermot Ronan’s Funeral Home, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, on Tuesday afternoon, February 11th, from 5:00pm until 7:30pm same evening.
His remains will be received into the Church of the Assumption, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, to further repose for Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Bri Cooney, Formerly Loughmore. Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Friday 7th February 2025 of Mrs Brigid (Bri) Cooney (née Cormack), Cappalea, Broadford, Co. Clare and formerly of The Islands, Loughmore. Co. Tipperary.

In her 103rd year and pre-deceased by her husband Eddie and son Michael; Mrs Cooney sadly passed away, while in the care of staff at Riverdale Nursing Home, Blackwater, Ardnacrusha, Co. Clare.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; son Eamon, daughters Mary (Spain) and Elaine (Ahern), grandchildren Cormac, Áine, Breda, Muireann, Anne, Patrick, Siobhán, Cathal, Gráinne and Micheál sons-in-law Kevin and Charlie, daughters-in-law Marie and Sharon, sister-in-law Kitty, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass for Mrs Coonry will be celebrated on Tuesday morning, February 11th at 10:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Killuran cemetery, Killuran, Co. Clare.

Death of Richard Needham, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death,yesterday, Wednesday 5th February 2025, of Mr Richard Needham, Ballinacloughy, Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his baby son Richard, parents Val and Josie; Mr Needham passed away peacefully while in the care of staff at the Oak Ward, University Hospital, Waterford, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Ann, sons Val, Laurence and Andrew, brothers Tom and Val, sisters Carmel and Breda, grandson Patrick, aunt Evelyn, daughters-in-law Kim and Claire, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Requiem Mass for Mr Needham will be celebrated on Sunday, February 9th, in St Michael’s Church, Mullinahone, Kickham St, Mullinahone, Thurles Co. Tipperary at 12:00 noon, followed by a Service of Cremation at The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, at 4:00pm on Monday afternoon, February 10th next.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Thursday 6th February 2025, of Mrs Bridget (Bridie) Carew (née Fogarty), [Also known as Bridie Carey], Coolnamona, Drombane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Milo, brothers and sisters John and Ann (in infancy), Mai, Martin, Dan and Mike; Mrs Carew passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, while in the care of staff at the Palliative Care, Unit B, Community Hospital of the Assumption, Castlemeadows, Gortataggart, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; daughter Mairead (Murray), sons Pat, Jerry and Donal, son-in-law Andy, daughters-in-law Marita, Lucy and Louise, grandchildren Marie, James, Cliodhna, Adam, Mark, Ella, Emma, Megan, Dean, Nicole and Amy, great grandchildren John, Milo and Ruth, Margaret Hickey, sister Kathleen Hayes (Carhue, Annacarthy), brothers Jimmy (Portlaoise), Paddy (Portarlington), sisters-in-law Mary and Maura (Manchester) nephews, nieces extended relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

Requiem Mass for Mrs Carew will be celebrated on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Upperchurch Cemetery, Crossroads, Cappanaleigh, Upperchurch, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Tuesday 4th February 2025, of Mrs Sylvia Cooke (née Whiteford), Oakfield, Boherard, Ballacolla, Co. Laois and formerly of Newpark, The Commons, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Cooke passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, while in the care of staff at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; husband (of 62 years) Tom, daughter Sharon (Handcock), son-in-law Alan, adored grandchildren Claire, Ross and Kyle, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

A Funeral service will take place on Friday afternoon, February 7th at 1:00pm at Kilcooley Parish Church (C of I), Kilcooley Abbey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary (Eircode E41 YY97), followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St. Canice’s Church graveyard, Ashbrook, Aghaboe, Co. Laois (Eircode R32 HX92).
