Funeral arrangements have now been confirmed for Ms Liz Howard, formerly of Glasnevin, Dublin and Newtown, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, who passed away peacefully at the Mater Hospital in Dublin on Thursday last, May 21st, 2026.

Ms Howard was widely known and deeply respected for her lifelong dedication to Camogie and the GAA. A former President of the Camogie Association and former PRO of Tipperary GAA, she made an outstanding contribution to Irish sport as a player, administrator, analyst and passionate supporter. Born in Carrick-on-Suir, Ms Howard also lived in Clare and Dublin, but always regarded Newtown, Nenagh as home. Outside of sport, she enjoyed a distinguished career with Aer Lingus, later specialising in Human Resource Management.

Predeceased by her parents Garrett and Josephine, her sister Kathleen and her baby sister Elizabeth, Ms Howard will be sadly missed by her sisters Pat (O’Driscoll), Jo (Needham) and Ann (O’Meara), her brother Gary, sister-in-law Aileen, brother-in-law Tommy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Her funeral will arrive on Monday next, May 25th, to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Youghalarra, Newtown, Nenagh, (Eircode E45 HD98), to repose for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment in Youghalarra Cemetery, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Thursday 21st May 2026, of Mr James (Biscuit) Boland, No 5 McDonagh Terrace, Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Catherine and brother-in-law Tom; Mr Boland, sadly, passed away unexpectedly.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; sisters Mary and Esther, brothers Michael, Richard, Sonny, Noel, twin brother P.J. and John, brother-in-law Shelly, sisters-in-law Nello, Jean and Ann Marie, aunts Pauline, Bid, Etty, Nonie and Peggy, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Boland will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Upper Kickham Street, Dublin Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 XY 47), on tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday May 26th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His funeral cortège will leave his home, proceeding on foot to be received into the Church of Our Lady and St Kevin, Ballydavid, Littleton, Co. Tipperary, (Eircode E41 HD90) on Wednesday morning next, May 27th, at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, on Wednesday 6th May 2026, of Mr Michael (Mikey) Maher, Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom, and formerly of Clonoulty, Gooldscross, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Jimmy and May, brother Paddy and sister Mary, brothers-in-law Alan, Jim and Paddy; Mr Maher passed away peacefully in Salford Royal Hospital, Stott Ln, Salford M6 8HD, United Kingdom.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving brothers Jimmy Tom and John, sisters Peggie and Nellie,, sisters-in-law Kitty, Tess and Ann, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many great friends, both in Manchester and Clonoulty.

The earthly remains of Mr Maher, will repose at Hayes’ Funeral Chapel, Clonoulty, Cashel on Sunday afternoon, May 24th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, before being received into the nearby Church of St John the Baptist, Clonoulty, same evening.
Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Maher on Monday morning, May 25th, at 11:30am, followed by interment in Clonoulty Cemetery, Clonoulty, Cashel Co. Tipperary.
