Death Of Antoinette Rogan, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Friday 5th January 2024, of Mrs Antoinette Rogan [née Ryan (Giant)], Grangefertagh, Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Upperchurch, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Seamus, sister Maireàd (Nolan) and brothers James and Edward (Eddie); Mrs Rogan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her adored daughters Shauna and Niamh, son-in-law Johnny O’Donoghue, grandchildren Cian, Odhràn, Finn, Donagh and Rowan, sisters Breda, Maeve and Caroline, brother Paudraig, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Rogan will repose at Doyle’s Funeral Home, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny, on Monday evening, January 8th, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Her remains will be received into the Church of St. MacCullin, Lusk Co. Dublin on Tuesday morning January 9th, arriving at 9.45am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Bishop Emeritus William Lee, Formerly St. Patrick’s College, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 5th January 2024 of Bishop William Lee, (Bishop Emeritus of Waterford and Lismore), Waterford City, Co. Waterford and formerly of Newport, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his father John, mother Delia, his brother John, and his brother-in-law John McDonogh; Bishop Emeritus Lee passed away peacefully while in the care of hospice staff at St. Vincent’s ward of Dungarvan Community Care Hospital, Co. Waterford.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by by his sisters, Sr. Patricia Lee and Eileen McDonogh, brother Pat, sisters-in-law Gay and Mary, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, Bishop Phonsie Cullinan and the clergy, religious, and lay faithful of the diocese, Nora Jacob, his housekeeper and the staff of the Pastoral Centre and Diocesan Office, both past and present, friends, and by all those who knew him in his many pastoral ministries.

The earthly remains of Bishop Emeritus Lee will repose at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Barronstrand Street, Waterford City, Co. Waterford on Monday afternoon next, January 8th from 2:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
Rosary will be recited at 3:00pm with evening prayer led by the clergy at 5:00pm, followed by night prayer at 7:00pm.

Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday January 9th at 12:00 noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the Cathedral grounds.

Bishop Lee was originally from Newport in Co. Tipperary, born in 1941; the eldest of five children, to parents John and Delia Lee.
He was ordained to the priesthood in 1966 at the age of 25, and later earned a Doctorate in Canon Law from St. Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth, before serving as President of Saint Patrick’s College, Cathedral Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, latter now Mary Immaculate College (MIC), linked with the University of Limerick.
In 1993 he was appointed to the post of Bishop of Waterford and Lismore, by Pope Saint John Paul II.
He also served as secretary to the Irish Episcopal Conference for some 15 years, between 1998 to 2013.

Death Of Rose McCarthy, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 5th January 2024 of Mrs Rose McCarthy (née O’Neill), Fr. Tirry Park, Fethard, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Gleann Rí, Holycross, Thurles Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her sons Eddie and Eric, and father Hugh; sadly, Mrs McCarthy passed away unexpectedly while in the care of staff at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny City, Co. Kilkenny.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family; husband Eric, daughter Joan, her mother Joanie, sisters Lizzie and Joanne, brother Martin, nephew Dean, niece Elaine, brothers-in-law John and Gary, sister-in-law Geraldine, uncle Patsy, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains will be received into the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, Fethard, Co. Tipperary on Tuesday morning, January 9th at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Crohane Cemetery, Crohane Lower, Killenaule, Co. Tipperary, (E41 V840).

Death Of Ned Barnable, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 5th January 2024, of Mr Edmund (Ned) Barnable, Cloneyhea, Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, formerly Drangan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and late of Willowbrooke Lodge Nursing Home, Mocklershill, Fethard, Co. Tipperary.

Mr Barnable, sadly, passed away while in the care of staff at South Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving sisters Josephine and Nora, brother-in-law Kieran, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Death Of Jim Bourke, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, Sunday 31st December 2023, of Mr James Joseph Bourke, (known as Seamus and Jim to his family and friends), Finglas, Co. Dublin and formerly of Coolaculla and Moyne, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mr Bourke passed away peacefully, while in the United Kingdom on 31st December 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his beloved son Damian as well as his very close friend Mary Cronin, daughter-in-law Brigid, five grandchildren, brother Eamonn, sister Marie, sisters-in-law Pam and Eileen, brother-in-law David, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Dublin, [D11 XA32].
