Tipperary & Limerick Communities Appeal For Prayers As Boy Fights For Life

Tipperary & Limerick communities appeal for prayers as 10 year old boy fights for Life following Belfast road tragedy.

The family of a young boy critically injured in a serious road traffic collision near Belfast have issued a heartfelt appeal for prayers, as he continues to fight for his life in hospital.

The child, aged 10 years, remains in a critical condition following a devastating two-vehicle crash on the Belfast Road, near Nutts Corner, Co. Antrim, which occurred shortly before 8:00am on Sunday morning last, April 26th.

Emergency services attended the scene of the collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a silver Volkswagen Passat. A 16-year-old passenger in the Passat, locally identified as Mr Callum Hutchinson from Co. Tipperary, tragically lost his life at the scene.

The young boy was transported to hospital, where he continues to receive urgent medical treatment.
The youngster is a cousin of Limerick mother Ms Scarlett Faulkner, who passed away earlier this month in Cork University Hospital, following a horrific assault in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary. Her brother Mr Jason Faulkner also sadly died just days after her funeral.

The driver of the Volkswagen Golf has been arrested by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) on suspicion of a number of motoring offences. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

The tragedy has deeply affected communities across Limerick and Tipperary, who have rallied in support of the families impacted. Messages of sympathy and solidarity continue to pour in, alongside calls for prayers for the injured child and all those affected.

This incident comes amid an already difficult period for members of the extended family, who have recently endured significant personal loss.

The community remains united in hope for the child’s recovery and in remembrance of the young life lost.
