It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, on Friday 23rd May 2025, of Mrs Eileen Fitzsimons (née Darcy), Monadreen, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Mountrath Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Pre-deceased by her parents Patrick and Kathleen Darcy; Mrs Fitzsimons passed away peacefully following a short illness, while in the care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital.
Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving husband Bernie, daughter Mary, son John, grandchildren Amy and Nicole, great-grandchildren, John’s partner Liz, brother Adrian, sister Catherine, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Fitzsimons will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on this afternoon, Sunday May 25th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm this evening.
Her remains will be received into the Church of St. Joseph and Brigid, Bothar-na-Naomh, Thurles, on tomorrow morning, Monday May 26th, at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St Peter and St Paul’s Cemetery, N80, Beladd, Portlaoise, Co. Laois at 1:00pm.
