It was with great sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Tuesday 27th June 2017, of Fr. Bill (William) Hanly, Pallottine College, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Fr. Hanly passed away peacefully yesterday evening at 7.10pm, while in the care of St. Theresa’s Nursing Home, here in Thurles. Fr. Hanly had suffered a fall some ten days ago and had picked up an infection.

The favourite prayer of Fr. Bill;
“May He support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done.

Then in His mercy may He give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest and peace at the last. Amen.”

Remembered with love and affection by his Pallottine Community; his sister Mary (Frost); brother James; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; grandnephews; grandnieces; former parishioners and a wide circle of friends.
