It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Thursday 3rd September 2026, of Mr J.J Hanly, Knockduff, Milestone, Kilcommon, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents Jimmy and Bridie; Mr Hanly passed away suddenly, but peacefully, while in the care of staff at University Hospital, Limerick City, Co. Limerick.
A cherished member of his community; his passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; heartbroken sister Dolores (Morkan), brother-in-law Billy, nephews David and wife Helen, Richard and wife Kim, niece Frieda (Duffy) and husband Thomas, grandnephews David, James, Liam, Fred, Hugh and Timmy, grandnieces Lily and Anna, cousins James, Michael and Breda, Patricia (Troy), Margaret (Ryan), Moira (O’ Reilly) and Ita (Gannon), extended relatives, great neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Hanley will repose tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, September 5th, at McCormack’s Funeral Home, Kilcommon, Thurles, from 5:30pm until 8:00pm, before being received into the nearby Church of St Patrick, Kilcommon, Thurles, on same evening.
Requiem Mass for Mr Hanley will be offered on Sunday, September 6th, at 12:00 Noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
