It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Monday 5th January 2026, of Mrs Kathleen (Kathy) Barrett (née Meagher), The Commons, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Boulea, The Commons, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by her husband Mick, parents Dick and Madge, brother Dick and baby Barrett (born sleeping); Mrs Barrett passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, while in the care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; daughters Birdy, Margaret and Kay, sons Michael and Dick, grandchildren Rachel, Michael, Michael, Seán and Laura, sons-in-law Stephen (Delaney), and David (Flanagan), daughter-in-law Triona (Delaney), Birdy’s partner Dick (Gahan), extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Barrett will repose at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, Killenaule, Thurles, (Eircode E41 HH66), tomorrow afternoon Tuesday January 6th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
Her remains will be received into the Church of the Assumption, Ballingarry (South Riding), Thurles, on Wednesday morning to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
