It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Thursday last, December 11th 2025, of Mr Pierce Murphy, “Owenbeg”, Cabra Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents Pierce and May and infant grand-daughter Amelia; Mr Murphy, sadly, passed away at his place of ordinary residence.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Patricia (Patsy), son Brian and Brian’s wife Tara, grandchildren Cian, Isabelle and Gracie, sister Mary and her husband Brendan, brother Michael and Michael’s wife Mary, sister-in-law Frances, brother-in-law Micheál, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours, many friends, fellow members of the Order of Malta, Thurles Musical Society, Cashel and Emly Lourdes Pilgrimage Helpers, teacher colleagues, staff and countless past pupils of Thurles CBS Secondary School.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Murphy will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Upper Kickham Street, Dublin Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 XY 47), on Tuesday afternoon next, December 16th, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His funeral cortège will depart from Kennedy’s Funeral Home on Wednesday morning, December 17th, at 10:15am to be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles at 10:30am, to further repose for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Lognafulla, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
