Death Of Jim Collins, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Monday 8th December 2025, of Mr Jim Collins, Dromore, Cabra, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

In his 92nd year and pre-deceased by his wife Mary (née Higgins), brother John and sister Mary (Shanahan), Mr Collins passed away peacefully following a short illness, while in the care of staff at Padre Pio, Nursing Home, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; nieces Nuala (O’Donovan, Kilteely, Co Limerick) and Ann (McCann, Stillorgan, Dublin), nephews Tommy, Jimmy and Johnny (Thurles) and the Shanahan family (London).

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Collins will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 CP59), on Wednesday afternoon, December 10th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, before being received into the Church of St Joseph and St Brigid, Bothar-na-Naomh, Thurles at 7:45pm same evening.
Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Collins on Thursday morning, December 11th, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Lognafulla, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
