Death Of James Burke, Formerly Of Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 28th November 2025 of Mr James Burke, Lismore Park, Waterford City, Co. Waterford and formerly of Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and late of De la Salle College, Ballyfermot, Co. Dublin.

In his 93rd year and pre-deceased by his parents Connie and Bridget, infant brother John, sisters Kitty and Eileen and his brother John; Mr Burke passed away peacefully while in the care of staff at Waterford Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; cousin Mary (O’Neill), sister-in-law Patsy, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Burke will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, 19 Barrack Street, Longcourse, Waterford, (Eircode X91 D300) on Monday afternoon, December 1st from 3:00pm, with vigil prayers and Rosary at 4:30pm, before being received into the Church of St. Paul, Church Road, Lisduggan, Waterford, (Eircode X91 E167) at 5:00pm same afternoon.

Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Burke on Tuesday morning, December 2nd, at 10:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner, Waterford.
