It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 14th November 2025 of Mr John (Jack) Gooney, Collins Park, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents Norah and Tommy, brothers Paddy, Mick, Frank, Joe and Bill, sisters Josie (Molumby), Nell (Hayes), Kath (Grehan), Mary (Callahan) and Bríd (Gooney); Mr Gooney passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Irene (Cooke), son Paul, daughter Elizabeth (Ryan), grandchildren Heather, Kristian, Abby and Anna, daughter-in-law Letitia, son-in-law Sean, brother Ollie, sister Betty (Fogarty), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Gooney will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles (Eircode E41 CP59) on Sunday afternoon, November 16th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His remains will be received into the Church of St Joseph and St Brigid, Bothar-na-Naomh, Thurles on Monday afternoon, November 17th, at 12:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 1:00pm, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Lognafulla, Thurles, Co. Tipperary..
