Omicron Cases Today Reach 8,126 In Irish Republic, Down 2,474 Cases On Yesterday.

The Republic of Ireland’s Department of Health, within the past 24 hours, has confirmed 4,731 new cases of Covid-19, while 3,395 people have also registered positive antigen test, through the HSE portal. Same numbers confirm, in all, a total of 8,126 new virus cases, latter a decrease of 2,474 based on the numbers reported in the same 24 hour period just yesterday.

There are 845 patients with Covid-19 in our Republic’s hospitals, spread around the country, as at 8:00am this morning; same an increase of 9 based on yesterday’s figures. Of these 79 patients are receiving treatment in intensive care units; up 1 more, in the last 24 hours.

Covid-19 vaccines are said to be going to waste, with claims that people are not turning up for their booster appointments, especially young people. However, this claim of complacency may be incorrect, due to the open-ended methods of communications used by doctors, who contacted patients who had already been summoned and vaccinated directly by the HSE, or who had used open walk-in centres, fearing delays in being called by their local doctor.

Please continue the downward virus hospital trend by getting your booster vaccination dose, as soon as applicable.
