3,351 Confirmed Covid-19 Cases On Island Of Ireland Today.

There have been 1,378 new cases of Covid-19 Confirmed by the Department of Health in the Irish Republic today. There are 96 people in hospital who have tested positive for coronavirus and of these, 22 are in ICU’s.

The Cabinet has agreed that indoor service in bars and restaurants can resume on Monday July 26th next, for those only who are fully vaccinated or have already recovered from Covid-19. Irish President Mr Michael D. Higgins earlier signed the new legislation regarding same, into law.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, a further 1,973 cases of Covid-19 were reported today. Sadly, here also 2 further deaths have been notified of patients who had previously tested positive for the virus.

In total there are now 3,351 cases of the virus on the whole island of Ireland, an increase of 1,103 cases within the past 24 hours.

Ireland remains in a very precarious position in the fight against Covid-19 and the medical profession are urging people to stay vigilant in the coming weeks, as relaxation measures are being slowly eased and as the Delta strain remains particularly high among young people.

The Delta varient is now spreading and how it will affects you depends on whether your body has been prepared by current vaccines, to enable you to fight it.
