Covid-19 Updates: Tue. 1st June 2021 – 337 New Virus Cases.

The Department of Health this evening has confirmed there have been 337 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic; with same case numbers subject to future data validation.

There are 89 people with Covid-19 remaining in hospital today in the Republic of Ireland, and of that number 34 are in ICU’s.

Some 54 new cases of Covid-19 vices were recorded in Northern Ireland during the past 24 hours

The Irish Minister for Health Mr Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that the vaccine registration portal will open for people aged 40 to 44 from tomorrow, Wednesday June 2nd; with 43 year olds permitted to register on Thursday, those aged 42 on Friday, 41 on Saturday and 40 year olds on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Pharmacies will begin playing a role in the vaccination process from early this month, Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has informed the Seanad; with over 1,000 pharmacies having already applied to be involved in the scheme.

We understand that over one million Covid vaccine doses were administered in May, taking the total number administered so far to 2.7 million.

The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5.30pm this evening, now stands at over 170.80 million confirmed cases, with global deaths at well over 3.55 million.
