8 new cases of killer COVID-19 virus confirmed
in Co. Tipperary within last 24 hours.
The Department of Health this evening has confirmed that there has been, sadly, 5 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,732.
There have been 423 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 239,325.
Of the cases notified today, 73% of whom are under 45 years of age; 199 cases are in Dublin, 41 in Kildare, 23 in Meath, 20 in Galway, 18 in Westmeath, with the remaining 122 cases located across 19 other counties.
There have been no further coronavirus-related deaths recorded in Northern Ireland within past 24 hours, with 88 new cases of the disease also confirmed
There have been 5,512 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including April 4th, 2021. Within the past 24 hours, 8 new cases have been confirmed within the county, bringing the Tipperary count to 190 within the past 14 days.
There are 232 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 56 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.
Some 663,411 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered here in Ireland up to April 4rd, with 272,676 persons having received their second dose.
Almost four million doses of Covid-19 vaccine are expected to come into the Irish Republic over the next three months. An Taoiseach Mr Micheál Martin has stated that 930,000 doses would come into the state during April, with 1.2 million expected in May and 1.7 million due in June.
The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5:00pm this evening, now stands at well over 132.64 million confirmed, with global deaths at well over 2.87 million.
