Covid-19 Update: Fri. 30th Oct. 2020 – 6 Deaths – 772 New Cases

14 new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 6 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,908.

There are 772 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 61,059. [Note: 10 cases previously confirmed have now been denotified]

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 14 are in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,156 cases to date, per RTE summary); 228 in Dublin; 120 in Cork; 50 in Meath; 41 in Donegal; 41 in Galway; with the remaining 278 cases located across all remaining counties.
The R (reproductive) number is now estimated to be close to 1.

Disappointingly, County Tipperary no longer hold the lowest 14 day incidence rate (today 132.2); Lowest rate is now held by Co. Leitrim, latter with 121.7 per 100,000 of population.

Currently, there are 330 confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally in our Irish State hospitals, with 43 of these patients in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

There are 566 new cases in Northern Ireland, with sadly a further 9 deaths from Covid-19 virus in the past 24 hours. Their death toll now stands at 697. There are also 354 confirmed Covid-19 patients in Northern Ireland hospital’s, with 43 in ICU’s, 38 of whom are on ventilators.

Total global cases this evening, now stand at well over 45 million [Global Cases – 45,304,036] with global deaths well over 1 million [Global Deaths – 1,184,565].
