16 new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Tipperary

There are 859 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 56,108.

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been 4 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,882.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 16 are in Co. Tipperary (1,063 cases to date, per RTE summary); 192 in Dublin; 148 in Cork; 58 in Donegal; 55 in Galway; 54 in Monaghan;, with the remaining 336 cases located across the 20 remaining counties

New laws enabling gardaí to break up house parties is most likely to take effect this weekend; having been passed by the Oireachtas. This legislation now awaits the signing into law by President Michael D. Higgins.
It will take a number of days before on the spot fines, for breaches of law, such as not wearing a face covering or travelling further than 5km from your place of residence, are made fully operational.

Currently, there were 315 confirmed cases of Covid-19 nationally in our State’s hospitals and 38 of these patients are in intensive care units.

There were 923 new cases in Northern Ireland bringing their total number of confirmed cases to 33,209, with 6 further deaths from Covid-19 virus in the past 24 hours.

Total global cases this evening now stand at over 42 million [42,395,907] with global deaths well over 1.1 million [1,146,596].
