Man Arrested At Dublin Airport In Connection With Tipperary Assault

A man, aged in his 20’s, was arrested by Nenagh Gardaí yesterday, in connection with a burglary and an assault; latter which occurred last month, (December 23rd, 2019), in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

It is claimed that two men entered a house in the Woodview Close area of Nenagh at around 3.30am and assaulted another male; latter aged in his 30s. The assaulted man sustained a number of cuts and contusions; however he did not require further medical treatment.

Later that day, a man was assaulted, with what is believed to be a hammer, outside a house in the nearby Yewston Estate in Nenagh. This assault is understood to have taken place at around 11.30pm. The victim of the latter assault was taken to University Hospital Limerick, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, but was later discharged.

Yesterday morning, a man was arrested at Dublin International Airport, as part of an operation carried out by Nenagh Gardaí in conjunction with Immigration Gardaí; as he was about to check in to board his intended flight.

The arrested man was then brought to Nenagh Garda Station, where he has since been charged.
