Templemore Wedding Of Emma & Jer

The wedding took place today of the very lovely Miss Emma Hennessy, daughter of Mrs Ann and Mr Patrick Hennessy, Church Street, Templemore, Thurles, Co. Tipperary to Mr Jer Sweeney, son of Mrs Kathleen and Mr Martin Sweeney,  Marian Road, Templemore, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The ceremony took place in the local parish Church of The Sacred Heart, Templemore, with the marriage presided over by local parish priest Rev. Fr. Eugene Everard.

Escorted down the aisle by her father Patrick, the bride looked stunningly beautiful in her ivory afternoon gown, displaying an A-line, “Sweetheart” neckline with full length veil. Equally beautiful were her accompanying bridesmaids, Hazel Hennessy & Kerrie Costello who wore full-length, navy  evening gowns, with delicately adorned cross-over waist bands, each embellished by a snowflake design brooch.

The groom, Johnathan, and his two groomsmen, Mr Philip Gleeson & Mr Billy Prout, all looked dashing in their long grey evening suits, elegantly highlighted by white wing collared shirts, with white silk cravats & silver striped waist coats.

Also adding to the splendour of the occasion were Flower Girl, Miss Keira Sweeney together with Pageboys, Master Shane Sweeney & Master Aron Breen.

The couple publicly exchanged their vows in front of a large gathering of family and close friends, while music and song for the ceremony was performed by the very talented Mrs Mary Rose McNally, accompanied by top vocal soloist Mrs Cathy Keane.

Scripture readings were undertaken by Thomas Gleeson & Mairead Lawlor, while prayers were read by Laura Allen, Brenda Prout, Sinead Hennessy, Michelle O’Broin, Jonathan Hennessy & Claire Conneely.  A Communion reflection was read by Patricia Allen while a video recording of the event  was undertaken by top videographer Mr Pat Corbett.

Following the ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs Sweeney retired to the popular local wedding venue, The Templemore Arms Hotel, Templemore, Thurles, where the happy couple & their guests were met by hotel proprietor Mr Dan Ward, before being entertained to a champagne and strawberry reception together with other light food & drink refreshments.

Following family photographs in the beautiful manicured gardens of the Templemore Arms, the newly married couple joined their guests in the hotels ‘Belville Suite,’ for dinner, which was followed by dancing very late into the evening.

The couple have chosen Portugal as their favoured honeymoon destination.

Emma and Jer,  from all your family at home and abroad, together with your many friends in Co.Tipperary, go all best wishes to you both for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together, and their thanks to you both for a truly memorable & enjoyable day.”
