Mullinahone Man Killed In Tragic Accident

Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority have concluded their investigations into an incident outside the village of Mullinahone, in south Tipperary yesterday, in which a man lost his life.

What is described locally as freak accident, happened at about 1:00pm, as the victim was shoeing a horse.

The man, named locally as Mr Michael Keating, who lived at his family home in Ballycullen, was single and aged in his 50’s.

The circumstances surrounding his death appear to indicate that the horse may have kicked out at Mr Keating, who was shoeing the animal, striking him in the head, thus causing his fatal injury.

Gardai are treating Mr Keating’s unfortunate death as a tragic accident.
