A roadway in the townsland of Toureen, near Rossmore, Cashel, Co Tipperary remains closed this morning as Gardaí carry out an investigation into a serious accident. The unfortunate accident occurred at approximately 6:30pm on yesterday evening.
The misfortune has resulted in the death of a 57-year-old female, latter who is understood to have died following a lawnmower accident, in the area above stated.
The woman appears to have been operating a ride-on lawnmower, which it is believed may have collided with a ditch, thus delivering the fatal injuries which contributed to her untimely death.
The body of the deceased woman was later removed to South Tipperary General Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, where further investigation are ongoing.
While the person has been named locally, her name has not been made public until all next of kin are informed.
