Death Of Abina Phelan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Sunday 14th May 2023, of Mrs Abina Phelan (née Cotter), Toor, Killinan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her parents Kathleen (Kitty) and Richard (Dick) and her brother Richie; Mrs Phelan sadly passed away suddenly, at her place of residence.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving family; son James, daughters Lucey, Caroline and Grace and their father Jimmy, grand-daughters Sophie and Ruby, sons-in-law John, Brendan and Shane, sisters Mary, Anne and Catherine, brothers Jimmy and Willie, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended relatives, members of Thurles Cathedral Choir, good neighbours and many bingo friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Phelan will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on Wednesday afternoon, May 17th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening, before being received into the nearby Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, at 7:45pm.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning, May 18th, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

For those persons who are unable to attend the funeral service for Mrs Phelan, same can be viewed, streamed live online HERE.

Death Of Veronica Wall, Co. Kilkenny.

It was with a great personal sadness that I learned of the death, yesterday, Saturday 13th May 2023, of Ms Veronica Wall, Kilkenny City, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Bellevue Terrace, Tramore, Co. Waterford.

Pre-deceased by her parents Ted and Nellie, brother Eamonn and her nephew Alan (Thurles); Ms Wall passed away peacefully while in the care of staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, Jamespark, Co. Kilkenny.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her son Johnny, sister Eleanor (Lyons, Dublin Rd. Thurles) brother Lorcan, her adored grandchildren Fionn and Iarla, daughter-in-law Lisa, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Ms Wall will repose at Hehirs Funeral Home, Butt’s Green Gardens, Co. Kilkenny from 6:00pm this evening, Monday, May 15th, concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 8:00pm.
Her remains will be received into the Church of the Holy Cross, Summerhill, Tramore East, Tramore, Co. Waterford to further repose for Requiem Mass on tomorrow morning Tuesday, May 16th, at 11:30am, followed immediately afterwards by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Ursula Meaney, Formerly Thurles Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 13th May 2023, of Mrs Ursula Meaney (née O’Dwyer), late of Rathfarnham, Dublin and formerly of Ballingarry, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Meaney passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Dublin.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving husband Richard (Dick); children Deirdre, Fiona, Rich and Brendan, grandchildren Arann, Sean, James, Brian, Laura-Mae, Grace, Max, Jimmy, Shona and Tara-Rose, sister Kathleen (Sr. Clare O’Dwyer), brother Joe, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Death Of Nance Kennedy, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 13th May 2023, of Mrs Anne (Nance) Kennedy (née McCarthy), “Loyola”, Castlemeadows, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Martin and son Declan (Deck); Mrs Kennedy passed away peacefully at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family and while in her 96th year.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her adored family, daughter Nora (Moore), sons Tom, P.J., John and Fintan, son-in-law Denis, daughters-in-law Margaret, Eileen, Nora and Margaret, her 16 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Maureen, cousin Eugene, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours, friends and wonderful carers.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Saturday 13th May 2023, of Mrs Mary Butler (née Maher), ‘Stella Maris‘, Bohernacrusha, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Beakstown, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband John, baby daughter Josephine, sisters Sr. Margaret, Kitty and Nellie; Mrs Butler passed away peacefully, at her place of residence, following a short illness and surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family; Mary, Jim, Margaret, Catherine, Teresa and John, sons-in-law Padraig, Brendan, T.J. and Seanie, daughters-in-law Angela and Margaret, grandchildren Jack, Katie, Matt, Fionn, Conn, Ross, Laura, Eoghan, Ronan, Oisín, Briaín, Ultan, Cormac, Tiernan, Aoife, Sean, Cillian, Jack, Grace and Kate, brothers Paddy, Mick and Tom, sisters Bridget O’Gorman and Joan Kinane, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Her remains will be received into the former Cistercian Monastery Abbey at Holycross, Thurles to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 15th; followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
