Here in the Irish Republic, a further 4,158 PCR test-confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported in the Republic of Ireland today, up 864 cases on yesterday’s reported figures. In addition to this number, 3,900 people have registered a positive antigen test today.

There are 593 patients with Covid in hospitals here in the Republic today morning, down 15 on the 608 reported yesterday; and of these there are 54 patients with Covid-19 in our hospital intensive care units today, no change numbers-wise from yesterday.
Sadly, 8 deaths have been reported in the past week, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths, in the Republic of Ireland, since the start of the pandemic, to currently standing at 6,460, as of today.
In Northern Ireland today, a further 2,294 cases of coronavirus were confirmed, down from 2,951 cases on yesterday.
Of these, 480 patients with Covid-19 are in Northern hospitals, down from 495 yesterday with 6 remaining in intensive care units; down 3 on yesterday’s figure.
Sadly, 4 more Covid-19-related deaths have also been reported in Northern Ireland today, bringing the total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, to 3,193.
