Covid-19 Update: Fri. 17th July 2020 – 3 Deaths – 34 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; remains currently at 543, with no new cases for the eight day in a row.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that there have been sadly 3 new death caused by this pandemic, leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic at 1,752.

However, there were 34 new additional cases reported to the Department of Health, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, now at 25,730. This latter figure includes the denotification of 2 previously confirmed cases.

Of these new 34 new cases notified, we are aware that Dublin, has 16 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.

Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ronan Glynn has warned that all of the measures that we have been talking about for so many months are now even more important; e.g. physical distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, wearing a face covering where appropriate, avoiding large crowds.
