Covid-19 Update: Thur. 28th May 2020 – 9 Deaths – 46 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Tuesday, May 26th last, remains at 528, with 0 recorded new case, within a 24-hour period.

The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 9 persons have sadly passed away from the virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,639.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 46 new cases of coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total since conception to 24,841.

Professor Philip Nolan, chairperson of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) Irish Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group has stated that all the indications are that the incidences of coronavirus in Ireland are stable or declining.

Chief Medical Officer for the Irish Department of Health, Dr. Tony Holohan has stated that all the signs are that there is still widespread compliance with restrictions and he hopes that people will keep following public health guidance.

Todate, the coronavirus has killed at least 355,736 people around the world since the outbreak first emerged in China last December.
