Covid-19 Update: Thur. 10th Dec. 2020 – 15 Deaths – 310 New Cases.

15 killer Covid-19 cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary this evening

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have sadly been 15 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,117.

There are 310 new additional virus cases reported today, [10 of those deaths taking place in December], leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 75,203.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 15 each are in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford and Meath; 80 in Dublin; 27 in Donegal; 25 in Louth; with the remaining 118 cases located across 16 other counties.

There were 203 people bring treated in hospital with Covid-19, with 36 of these being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units across the Republic.

A further 14 people have died in Northern Ireland from the Covid-19 virus, with an additional 441 people testing positive for the virus. In total the virus has now claimed the lives of 1,099 persons in the North, with a total of 56,719 cases confirmed cases.

Data relevant up to midnight on Thursday, December 10th, 2020, shows there have been 1592 confirmed killer Covid-19 virus cases identified to date in Co. Tipperary. There have been 19 such cases identified within the Thurles local area, within the 14 days between 24th November 2020 and the 7th of December 2020.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at over 69.2 million with global deaths at well over 1.57 million.

Please be mindful, this Christmas season, that this virus remains a constant danger especially to vulnerable and older persons.
