Covid-19 Update: Fri. 28th Aug. 2020 – Zero New Deaths – 127 New Cases

This evening, figures from the Department of Health confirm that there have been zero new deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,777.

However, there are 127 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 28,578.

Of the 127 new confirmed cases today, 9 were in Co. Tipperary; while 52 were in Dublin; 13 in Monaghan; 8 each in Meath, Wexford, and Roscommon; with the remaining 29 located in Carlow; Cavan; Clare; Cork; Galway; Kerry; Kildare; Kilkenny; Limerick; Longford; Louth; Offaly; Waterford; Westmeath and Wicklow.

There now have been 2656 confirmed clusters within the Republic.

Meanwhile in Northern Ireland, another 85 people have tested positive for Covid-19. This brings their seven-day total to 431. Happily no new deaths were reported.
