garda crestGardaí in Tipperary have arrested a man, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, following their ongoing investigations into the death of Bobby Ryan. Mr Ryan’s body was found in a slurry tank two years ago by a farmer.

It is understood that a male, believed to be in his forties, was arrested this morning and is currently being detained for questioning at Tipperary Garda Station.

The 52 year old Mr Ryan had been classified as a missing person for almost two years before the grim discovery of his remains on April 30th, 2013 last.

Mr Ryan, a father-of-two, during his lifetime had worked as a lorry driver and also as a part-time Disc Jockey at weekends and was well known across South Tipperary by the stage-name, “Mr Moonlight.”

His final known movements indicate that he had left the home of his partner, M/s Mary Lowry, at Fawnagown, latter situated between Tipperary and Bansha, shortly after 6:00am on the morning he disappeared, back in June 2011.
