Two More Road Deaths In Tipperary

garda crestGardaí have confirmed that two men, possibly Waterford natives, have lost their lives following a road accident on the outskirts of Clonmel, Co Tipperary this morning.

It is understood that the single vehicle accident, involving a lorry carrying a mini-digger, happened sometime after 9.00am this morning on the Co Waterford side of River Suir on a narrow road at Tickencor, situated between Clonmel and Kilsheelan.

It is understood that the lorry was descending a steep hill when it accidentally overturned, killing both men instantly. Emergency services are expected to remain at the scene for some hours.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision to contact Clonmel Garda Station on 052-6177640, or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

These two latest fatalities now bring to eleven persons, the number of people killed on the roads of Tipperary in less than fourteen weeks.
