Peg Hanafin’s Latest Book Launch

Local author Peg Hanafin will be launching her latest book “Never Give Up” in LIT Thurles, Nenagh Road this Friday, 3rd March 2017 @ 6:45pm.

This will be Peg’s third book release from this Thurles native.

Her first book release were called “Getting More Out of Life” – a collection of essays revealing the author’s curiosity, love of life and her belief that life is rarely what it seems on the surface.

Peg’s second book was called “Thoughts For Your Journey” – containing 366 thoughts, one for each day of the year, in which Peg puts forward ideas that try to simplify life in our complex and troubled world.

Peg’s latest book will be available for the special price of €13 at the launch event in LIT. Of course a signed copy makes for such a welcome gift especially if a friend or family member’s birthday or other celebration is expected in the near future. Live Music and finger food will be available until 9:30pm.

Death of Mary Darling

It is with great sadness we learned of the death of Mary Darling (née Walsh) from Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Most deeply regretted by her loving daughters Edel and Joy, sons Ian and Alan, relatives and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

The earthly remains of Mary Darling will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Thursday Feburary 2nd from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and arriving at the Cathedral of the Assumption at 7pm. Requiem Mass will be on Friday 3rd at 11am with burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Thurles.

May She Rest In Peace.

Local Band ‘Seskin Lane’ To Play Electric Picnic

seskin_laneA local thurles band, Seskin Lane, are to play Electric Picnic on Friday 4th September 2015 on the Salty Dog stage @ 7:00 pm.

Seskin Lane was founded in 2010 by Eoin Ryan Anthony. Seskin Lane’s debut album “Tasty Rainbow Rain” was released in 2011 and was followed by the release of their second album: “The History Of Things To Come”, in 2014.

Seskin Lane are growing in popularity and can often be heard in Thurles venues and other venues throughout the country. They’re latest single I Never Forget A Face is doing particularly well on iTunes at the moment.

The band consists of: Eoin Ryan Anthony; (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard, Banjo & Harmonica), Cian Cronin; (Drums & Percussion), Paudie Ryan; (Bass Guitar) & Niall O’ Shaughnessy; (Guitar & Vocals).

 

Johnny B’s New Song For Tipperary Hurling Team 2014

This newly recorded upbeat rock/pop song is a perfect summer song and should do well. Rumours are there is going to be a full album released very soon.
