Covid-19 Numbers Confirmed At 2,744 Today On Irish Mainland.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,466 new cases of Covid-19, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours.

There are 402 people being treated in our hospitals for the virus, an increase of two on yesterday. Of these, 73 patients are in intensive care units, down 2 from yesterday.

The positivity rate for Covid-19 within the community has started to rise, according to the Health Service Executive’s National Lead for Testing and Tracing, with unvaccinated people aged in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, are most likely to end up in our hospital.

In Northern Ireland, over the past 24 hours, another 1,278 cases of the virus were also confirmed by their Department of Health, up from 1,109 on Monday.

Latest figures show there are 368 patients with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland’s hospitals today, up from 314 on Monday. There are currently 31 patients in intensive care beds, 4 less than Monday’s reported figures. However sadly, 6 more coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland today.
